Through professional development sessions, strengths-based leadership coaching tailored to each leader, and/or site visits and reviews that provide observation feedback and on-the-ground coaching, we support each unique leader and team member to embrace the adaptive and technical side of their work so that they can be their best self.

Founder
Kyle Shaffer
A Dynamic Leader and Facilitator —
Kyle is the founder of Shaffer Coaching + Consulting who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to leadership development and organizational culture. Kyle has worked with hundreds of leaders throughout the country, across sectors and roles, spanning from aspiring leaders to top executives. Whether it’s through one-on-one coaching sessions or a workshop, people leave sessions feeling inspired, owning their strengths, and having practiced specific skills and strategies to help them thrive.
Always an educator at heart, Kyle loves learning and growing, and he helps others do the same. He has spent two decades in education, fifteen of those years as a leader in schools and school districts–he has experience as a founder, a successor leader, and a district leader, where he managed and coached the school leaders across the district.
Kyle has a B.A. in Sociology from Emory University and a Masters in Educational Leadership from National Louis University. He lives in St. Louis where he strives to be a great husband and a great father to his three amazing children.
Positions and Accomplishments
As an elementary school principal, led one of the top five highest performing elementary schools in New Orleans.
As a middle school principal, led the highest performing open enrollment school in San Francisco, which was recognized as a California Distinguished School.
Alongside families fighting for change, created the vision and founded a top performing PreK through eighth grade school which was recognized by Innovate Public Schools as a top performing school for low income students in the entire Bay Area.
Selected for the national Fisher Fellowship alongside sixteen leaders across the country, creating a vision for and founding new schools.
Served as Vice President of Schools for KIPP St. Louis, managing and coaching leaders across the district to transform school cultures and navigate through the shifts from the pandemic.
Served as a Leadership Coach for numerous leaders across the country from aspiring leaders to top executives.
Completed Relay Graduate School’s National Principal Supervisor fellowship and recognized with Distinguished Honors.
Recognized as a "40 Under 40" recipient by Emory University as an alum who has had significant impact on education and communities.
Facilitated leadership development for five cohorts of the Miles Fellowship, a group of aspiring school leaders selected annually from across the nation.
Presented at the Nueva School Innovative Learning Conference which has participants from across the world.

Ashley Odham
Executive Coach and Leadership Consultant
Supporting leaders to balance empathy, strategy, vision, and execution so they inspire those they lead and drive results.
Ashley Odham serves as an executive coach and consultant to leaders across the education, nonprofit, and for-profit sectors, supporting them in leading with clarity, confidence, by building on their strengths and addressing areas for growth. She believes deeply in the power of coaching to unlock potential, sharpen decision-making, and help leaders show up more authentically in the work that matters most. Ashley is passionate about partnering with leaders to navigate complexity, grow in self-awareness, and lead with both courage and compassion.
In her day job, Ashley Odham is the Chief of Staff at KIPP St. Louis Public Schools, where she leads the execution of the regional strategy and oversees the fundraising, marketing, communications, and data teams. In this role, she supports organizational alignment, manages complex cross-functional initiatives, and ensures the organization's priorities are implemented effectively. Ashley also leads leadership development efforts across the organization, with particular strengths in facilitation, coaching, and developing leaders at all levels.
In addition to her internal leadership work, Ashley has designed and facilitated trainings for a variety of organizations, including the Charter School Growth Fund, KIPP Foundation, Calendaria, and The Opportunity Trust, on topics ranging from strategic planning and operational alignment to leadership development, change management, organizational effectiveness and C-suite retreat facilitation.
Ashley began her career in education as a 2006 Teach For America corps member in New York and previously worked as a Recruitment Director at Teach For America before joining KIPP St. Louis in 2010 as the founding 6th-grade English Language Arts teacher at KIPP Inspire Academy. She later served as Development, Communications, and Marketing Manager, then as Director of Talent, before stepping into her current role in 2021. She is a proud graduate of DePauw University, where she studied Communications and Sociology and was a four-year scholar-athlete and captain of the softball team.
Ashley is recognized for her collaborative leadership, strategic vision, and steadfast dedication to advancing opportunities for children and families across St. Louis. She lives in St. Louis with her husband, Dustin, and their three children.
